How are my earnings calculated?
How are my earnings calculated — quick answer with steps and helpful context for Javern users.
Updated 31 July 2026
Overview
For every accepted order, Javern deducts a 5% admin commission on the product subtotal and a flat ₦500 service fee. Shipping passes through to you in full. The rest goes into your balance.
The formula
vendor earnings = (product subtotal × 0.95) + shipping
Or spelled out step by step:
- Product subtotal = order total − shipping − ₦500 service fee
- Admin commission = product subtotal × 5%
- Your earnings = (product subtotal − admin commission) + shipping
The platform keeps: (product subtotal × 5%) + ₦500.
Key points
- The 5% applies to the product subtotal only — not to shipping, and not to the ₦500 service fee.
- Shipping is passed through to you 100%. You keep whatever you set as the shipping price for the option the buyer picked.
- The ₦500 is a flat service fee per order, regardless of order size.
- No Paystack processing fee is deducted. No VAT is deducted.
Worked examples
Small order
- Order total: ₦5,500 (₦5,000 product + ₦500 shipping)
- Product subtotal: ₦5,000
- 5% commission on ₦5,000 = ₦250
- Flat service fee = ₦500
- You earn: (5,000 − 250) + 500 = ₦5,250
- Platform keeps: ₦250 + ₦500 = ₦750
Medium order
- Order total: ₦20,000 (₦18,000 product + ₦2,000 shipping)
- Product subtotal: ₦18,000
- 5% commission on ₦18,000 = ₦900
- Flat service fee = ₦500
- You earn: (18,000 − 900) + 2,000 = ₦19,100
- Platform keeps: ₦900 + ₦500 = ₦1,400
Larger order, higher shipping
- Order total: ₦105,000 (₦100,000 product + ₦5,000 shipping)
- Product subtotal: ₦100,000
- 5% commission on ₦100,000 = ₦5,000
- Flat service fee = ₦500
- You earn: (100,000 − 5,000) + 5,000 = ₦100,000
- Platform keeps: ₦5,000 + ₦500 = ₦5,500
When your earnings hit your balance
- If you have a Javern Wallet (BVN verified): credited to your available balance the moment you accept the order.
- If you don't have a Javern Wallet yet: credited to your legacy pending balance when you accept. It moves to your withdrawable balance once the buyer confirms delivery.
See When do I get paid? and Why is my balance pending?.
What about withdrawal costs?
A separate flat ₦10 transaction fee applies per Javern Wallet withdrawal — see What are withdrawal fees?.
