How do I report fake products?

How do I report fake products — quick answer with steps and helpful context for Javern users.

Updated 31 July 2026

Overview

Selling fake or counterfeit products is not allowed on Javern. If you've spotted a listing that looks like a knock-off — or you received one — report it and we'll investigate. Reports are confidential.

What counts as fake or counterfeit

  • Products branded as a designer or trademarked brand when they aren't the real thing.
  • Products described as "original" or "authentic" that clearly aren't.
  • Products using another brand's logo, name, or design without permission.

Report a listing

  1. Open the product page you want to report.
  2. Tap the "Report" option (usually a flag or three-dot menu on the listing).
  3. Pick "Fake or counterfeit" as the reason.
  4. Add any details — for example, the real brand it's mimicking, or how you know it's not genuine. Include photos if you have them.

Report after receiving a fake

If you already received the item and it turned out to be counterfeit:

  1. Don't tap "Confirm Delivery".
  2. Message the store in the order chat and raise it — attach clear photos showing the fake vs the real branding.
  3. Start a return and refund — see How do I request a refund?.
  4. Also report the listing so it comes down for other buyers.
  5. If the store won't cooperate, contact support with your order ID, photos, and a summary of the chat.

What happens next

We review the report. If we agree the listing is counterfeit, we take it down, warn or suspend the store, and refund affected buyers. Repeat offenders are removed from Javern.
