How do marketing campaigns work?

How do marketing campaigns work — quick answer with steps and helpful context for Javern users.

Updated 31 July 2026

Overview

Marketing campaigns are messages a store sends out to its followers and past customers on Javern. Stores use them to announce new drops, share coupon codes, run limited-time promos, or update buyers on the store. Campaigns arrive as push notifications on your device.

As a buyer

You'll get a marketing campaign if:

  • You've followed the store, or
  • You've bought from the store before and left notifications on.

The message shows up as a push notification and (for some campaigns) an email. Tap the notification to open the store or the featured products.

If you don't want to receive marketing campaigns from a store, unfollow them or turn off notifications for that store in your app settings.

As a seller

You create and send campaigns from the Javern Vendor app. Typical uses:

  • Announcing a new product drop.
  • Sharing a discount code for a limited window.
  • Reminding customers about restocked items.
  • Rewarding repeat buyers with early access.

Keep messages short and specific — tell buyers what's new, what's in it for them, and how long they've got. Overusing campaigns leads to unfollows.

Separately from the campaigns you send yourself, Javern also curates a featured store slider and an article slider on the home page. Getting featured is free and editorial — if we like what your store is doing, we'll spotlight you or publish a write-up about your brand. See How do featured stores work?.
