How to make your first sale on Javern

The essentials for getting your first order in as a new Javern Vendor.

Updated 31 July 2026

Overview

Your first sale is the hardest — nobody's heard of your store yet. Focus on making the store look established, easy to trust, and easy to buy from, and the first order will come.

Set up the fundamentals

  1. Complete your store. Logo, cover photo, store description, contact info, policies. Empty sections read as unfinished. See How do I customize my storefront?.
  2. Take good photos. Clean background, natural light, multiple angles. See How to take professional product photos and Best lighting for fashion photography.
  3. Write clear product descriptions. Size, fabric, colour, care. Answer the questions buyers would ask. See How to write better product descriptions.
  4. Verify your BVN. Activate your Javern Wallet so payouts are instant when Orders start coming. See How do I verify my BVN?.
  5. Set your shipping options. Cover the areas you actually deliver to, priced fairly. See How do I set shipping rules?.

Get the first eyes

  • Post on your own social media. Instagram, TikTok, WhatsApp Status. Link directly to your store on Javern.
  • Ask friends and past customers (if you sold before Javern) to try the store and leave a review.
  • Follow other Nigerian fashion brands and engage — visibility begets visibility.
  • Consider a launch coupon. A "welcome 10%" code creates urgency. See How do I create coupons?.

Convert visits into sales

  • Reply fast in chat and DMs. Speed of response is a huge trust signal for new stores.
  • Be honest about delivery. Overpromise once and you lose the customer.
  • Accept orders immediately. Don't let auto-cancel happen — Javern rewards active stores and buyers won't retry.

Once the first orders come in

  • Ship promptly and update Order status honestly.
  • Ask for a review politely once the buyer confirms delivery.
  • Repeat with what worked. Track which photos or posts brought traffic.
