What if the buyer doesn't respond?
What if the buyer doesn't respond — quick answer with steps and helpful context for Javern users.

Overview
If a buyer isn't replying to your messages or picking up their phone, don't panic — most buyers just miss notifications or aren't near their phone. Give it a bit of time, try again, and only escalate if it's genuinely blocking delivery.
First: give it time and try a couple of channels
- Message them again in the order chat — a fresh push notification often gets a reply.
- Try the phone number on the order.
- Check whether the buyer might have added a landmark or delivery note in earlier chat messages.
If the courier can't deliver without them
- Ask the courier to reschedule for a day when the buyer is more likely to be available.
- Keep the parcel with you or your courier — don't leave it somewhere risky.
- Message the buyer with the delivery attempt info so they know what happened.
If they still don't respond after a day or two
- Update the order status honestly — leave it at "Out for Delivery" if the courier is still trying, or move it back to "Order Processing" if the parcel came back to you.
- Post a summary in the chat so the buyer can see everything you've tried when they open it.
- If it's been longer and the parcel is stuck with you, contact our support team with the order ID and we'll help reach the buyer or work out a resolution.
What not to do
- Don't mark an order "Order Completed" if it wasn't actually delivered — this makes disputes messy.
- Don't cancel from your side without talking to support if the order has already shipped — see How do I handle returns?.
